2006 (U-13) GIRLS ADVANCE TO THE EPYS PRESIDENTS CUP FINAL

2006 GIRLS HEAD TO EPYS PRESIDENTS CUP FINAL...

Our PENN FUSION LEHIGH VALLEY 2006 (U-13) Girls went on the road this past Saturday evening for a 7pm kickoff in the EPYS Presidents Cup Semi-Final versus Hulmelville SC Force at Bryn Athyn College.  On a beautiful evening for soccer the PFLV team came out hungry zipping around the field during the opening minutes. At approximately the 8 minute mark Gianna Buysse found herself running onto the ball at the top of the box a she placed a wonderfully well weighted ball over the goalkeeper and into the upper 90 of the far side of the goal to give the Fusion a 1-0 lead. The play on the pitch was back and forth and both teams had quality chances. Midway through the first half PFLV's goalkeeper Addison Etter made a diving save to her right to keep the score at 1-0 heading into the break.

It was not until late in the match that Summer Hill, the PFLV central midfielder, took the ball from 25 yards out and dribbled past two defenders before getting taken down just outside the pentaly area.  There was no doubt in Coach Weitzman's mind that Hill would step up and take the direct kick for her team. And with one lovely chip over the keepers head and outstretched arms the PFLV team went up 2-0 and never looked back.

The team now awaits the winner of the May 12th Semi-Final of North Union United Wave versus Buckingham Untd Blue.  The May 18th 2019 EPYS Presidents Cup Final will surely be a thriller. Good luck to our 2006 PFLV team.

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE PLAYERS, PARENTS, AND COACHES!!!
